Go to My Items page within your dashboard area and select “Edit item” for the listing you are wanting to update, from there scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Item availability” – this will pop up a calendar window where you can select the dates this particular item is unavailable. You can block out multiple time periods if necessary.
Listing Gear & Managing Rentals
Do I have to pay to list gear?
There is no fee to list items on WallaRhubarb and it will always be free.
Can I adjust the availability of my listing?
What if I want to de-list an item?
Sometimes you may need to close a listing, so that it is no longer visible to renters. This is easy to do, simply go to My Items page within your dashboard, untoggle the listing within the ‘Edit Items’ page for the listing you want to de-list. This will remove the listing from the marketplace so that other members cannot see or request to rent it. However, it will be saved as a closed listing which you can always reopen at any time.
What is Activities page?
Activity page within your dashboard allows you to see the status of each listing you have listed, you can also track your rental and sale profit history in this page also.
Holiday Mode
If you are unavailable to accept any rentals for a period of time, and you want to temporarily make all your listings unavailable, you can use Holiday Mode, this option is found in your dashboard, where you can choose to pause all your listings, and put them live as you choose.
Do I have to deliver the gear to the renter?
No, as an owner we do not expect you to deliver the gear to the renter unless you want to. Most of the time a renter will meet the owner at their preferred location. However, stay tuned as we plan to release new delivery and pick up options very soon.
A new renter sent me a request. How do I find out more about them?
It’s fun to connect with new people through WallaRhubarb, but sometimes you want to know more about the person renting from you. As an equipment owner, we want you to feel completely comfortable with each rental.
If you’d like to learn more about a renter, here are some additional questions you may want to ask:
1. What is the project you’re working on?
2. Will you be handling the gear yourself, or will someone else be operating it?
3. Where are you shooting? (Indoor / outdoor; studio / on location; any important environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, sand, water, etc.)
4. Do you plan to travel with the gear?
5. Are you picking up the equipment yourself, or will you be adding an Authorized Person to the rental?
6. Can you show me examples of your previous experience using this kind of equipment?
7. Can you provide professional references from people you’ve worked with in the industry? (Ask for contact details, website, etc).
Remember to keep all communication on the site. New renters may not know the rules around this, so let them know that the conversation needs to stay on WallaRhubarb. Do not share your email address, phone number, or any other contact information before the rental is booked.
Do I have to provide a case or bag for the equipment?
Although it is not mandatory, we highly recommend that you lend the equipment case to the renter so your equipment is transferred safely and always protected when not in use. If it normally comes in a case or bag, please make that clear in the listing’s description.
